Jean Foster

Elected Gold Club Administrator

I have always lived in Lincolnshire, presently in Horncastle.  I work in a family business, a photographic laboratory, which over the past twenty years has been one of the larger businesses in the town, employing up to 50 staff, so I have a lot of business experience.

I brought my three sons to their first game at Sincil Bank towards the end of the conference season and it was so exciting, we were hooked  and we have been season ticket holders ever since.

When the club was in financial difficulties, I volunteered to help out at the formation of the Supporters Trust, little dreaming that that decision would lead to me working on the Trust Board for the next eight years.

I was the first Gold Member in 2001 and have been co-opted onto the Trust Board as the Gold Membership administrator from the beginning, except for a year away battling with cancer.  From going to Birmingham to support the club at its court hearing and then going to Cardiff for our first playoff final, with a long period in hospital in the middle, it is a time to remember for many reasons. My colleagues on the Trust Board would send e-mails to my family who would bring them to hospital to read to me, so that I could keep in touch with what was happening at the club.  I am quite sure that not wanting to miss that game at Cardiff helped in my recovery.

Games that stand out for me are the win against Scunthorpe to send us to Cardiff and then at the start of the 06/07 season, the goal scoring bonanza we had which sent us home not quite able to believe we had scored a total of 12 goals in two consecutive league games against Barnet and Rochdale. This meant we went top of the league the following week with a win against Swindon.  Happy days!

When we reached a total of 50 gold members, we could elect one of our group onto the main club board and I was very privileged to be elected in that position five years ago.  The Gold Members of the Trust come from all over the country and from various walks of life, but all have a common interest in the welfare of Lincoln City and I am very proud to be their Director.
