Chair of the Community Committee
What is your role on the Trust Board?
I am Chair of the Community Committeee and have responsibility for The Club’s the Hub and Community Links. I also sit on the Lincoln City Safety Advisory Group as the Trust representative.
Where do you sit?
I sit in the Echo Stand although I used to stand on the open terrace years ago as well as behind the railway end goal.
Why did you join the Trust?
Because I’m a firm believer in the concept of fans being more involved in the owning and running of their clubs. I became involved in the Trust Board when I retired and had more time to devote to it.
When was your first game at Sincil Bank?
My first game was in the 1950’s when we were in the old second division. I don’t remember the first game as I was only about 5 years old!
Which was the best Lincoln game you have seen?
The best game involving Lincoln I ever saw was probably away to Fulham a few years ago when we lost 5-4 having twice fallen two goals behind to a premier league team.
Who is your favourite ever Lincoln player?
Percy Freeman. Not necessarily the best player I’ve seen wearing the red and white stripes but a great character.
Who is your favourite Lincoln manager?
Graham Taylor although Keith runs him close.
What is your best Lincoln moment?
Getting to the play off finals and seeing the team walk out at the Millennium Stadium.
What is your worst Lincoln moment?
There are a number I’m afraid. Dropping out of the league into the conference, the Bradford Fire, the constant seeking of re-election in the 60’s and Graham Taylor leaving for Watford come to mind.
Which is the best ground you have visited?
The Millennium Stadium in order to watch Lincoln but Old Trafford and the Emirates are both amazing grounds as was the old Wembley Stadium.
Which is your favourite League 2 ground?
Meadow Lane is a lovely, newly refurbished, City Centre ground.
Who is the best player you have ever seen?
Cruyff, Dalgliesh, Moore or Maradonna. Unfortunately none of them against Lincoln! Against us, Shearer, Johnny Haynes or Ron Davies. For us Ainsworth, Graver or Dave Smith.
Which other teams do you support?
I don’t.
What are your other sporting interests?
I play golf and run regularly up to half marathon distance and am a member of Bourne Town Harriers. I like watching cricket as well as football and athletics.
