8th July 2011
Dear Member
Lincoln City Football Club – General Meeting
Lincoln City Supporters’ Trust (the Trust) is seeking from all paid up Adult, Gold, Silver, Life and Honorary Trust members their views in relation to the General Meeting (GM), called by Lincoln City Football Club (Lincoln City F.C.) for 21 July 2011 as requested by a number of Lincoln City F.C. shareholders.
The General meeting has been called to consider a call for a vote of no confidence in the Club Board, individual votes seeking the removal of all existing Club Directors/Organisations including Lincoln City Supporters’ Trust representatives from the Club Board and the reinstatement of a former Club Director to the Club Board.
There are a number of ways in which you can provide your views:
- Write to us with your views. Post or deliver your comments to The Secretary, Lincoln City Supporters’ Trust, C/o Lincoln City Football Club, The Office, Sincil Bank, Lincoln, LN5 8LD.
- e-mail us at info@impstrust.co.uk
- Take an opportunity to speak with Trust Board Directors and put your views directly. Directors of the Trust will be available in the Trust Suite at Sincil Bank from 9.30am to 1.00pm on Saturday 16th July 2011.
Please note, your full name and address will be required as the Trust Board will only consider views from fully paid up Trust members. Only views received by the Trust prior to 12.00 noon on the 18th July 2011 will be considered. The Trust Board will be meeting on the evening of the 18th July to consider members views and your individual response will only be considered by members of the Trust Board.
The Trust Board met on Thursday 7 July and expressed full confidence in our two representatives who are members of the Lincoln City F.C. Board. However, we will not agree Trust actions in relation to the Lincoln City F.C. GM until after the closing date for receiving member input and all valid input has been considered. The Trust Board is duty bound in line with its constitution to act in the best interests of LCST. As a consequence we will be taking views from our members prior to making a decision about how to vote at the GM.
This is a crucial period in the history of Lincoln City F.C. and it is vital that all of the Trust members take the time to share with the Trust Board their views.
Although the Trust constitution does not require the Trust Board to contact members, the Trust Board are committed to acting in the best interests of the Trust, Members and Lincoln City Football Club and have unanimously committed to seeking from adult members their views prior to making any decision on how the Trust Board will act at the Lincoln City Football Club General Meeting.
I am afraid that we will not be able to individually respond to views expressed by Trust members but we will publish on the Trust website, www.impstrust.co.uk what actions were agreed and why.
We look forward with anticipation to receiving your views.
Yours sincerely
Chris Ashton
Chair, Lincoln City Supporters’ Trust
