Following the Trust’s unease about abusive language being used at Sincil Bank in the opening games of the season, the Trust Chair, Chris Ashton, wrote to the club outlining his concerns. His letter can be seen on the News section on 20 Sept 2011. The Club Chief Executive, Stephen Prescott has replied to Chris and below is the text of that reply: -
“Chris Ashton:
Lincoln City Supporters’ Trust

Dear Chris,
Further to your recent letter following complaints from Supporters Trust members about supporters using abusive language. I have consulted with LCFC Safety Officer Darren Curtis.
I would like to assure you we take every complaint seriously, and make a balanced decision on each individual case once we have been given the facts. All stewards are asked to interact with supporters in a polite and courteous manner. However if they find they are unable to resolve a matter it should then be passed on to the supervisor for their respective area. The supervisor should take details, and only ask for that supporter to write in if the matter cannot be resolved satisfactorily on the day.
I appreciate and understand the fans frustrations, especially if they feel that a matter is not dealt with professionally. However the majority of our stewards are also supporters of the club and do a great job when-ever their help is required.
Going forward, Darren Curtis is very happy to speak with you personally about any issues, with or without me present, to resolve any matters more expediently.
In the event of any further issues on match days, please ask trust members to report the issue to a steward and ask for the steward's name. This will help us to work together to improve communication at all levels.
We intend to trial a dedicated text service (number 07530794710) for supporters to contact if they are not comfortable speaking to a steward at a certain time. I would ask they give their name, stand, block, row and seat details and brief description of the problem, as you can appreciate this could be open to abuse and we can discuss the success of this on a match by match basis.
Apart from a long standing issue with Mr Miller which we feel that we have now dealt with, we have not had many issues over the last couple of seasons. Clearly the current performances and league position are not helping, and sometimes creating a somewhat over sensitive reaction to issues, yet and as previously mentioned the match day staff will approach every matter in a professional manner.
Thank you for taking the time to contact me with these issues. It is important that we continue work closely with the Supporters’ Trust, to ensure that home and away supporters enjoy a positive match day experience at Sincil Bank.
Yours sincerely
Stephen Prescott
Chief Executive
CC: Darren Curtis, LCFC Safety Officer”
